A new Korean restaurant in Dubai is set to debut at St. Regis Gardens, Palm Jumeirah. HANU Dubai, opening in February 2025, brings a fresh perspective to Korean cuisine through a blend of traditional cooking methods and modern techniques. The restaurant, led by Seoul-born Chef Kyung Soo Moon, introduces private table grilling and an impressive collection of Korean spirits to Palm Jumeirah’s growing culinary portfolio.

The space draws inspiration from Korea’s rich heritage, featuring striking design elements like hammered bronze doors, traditional wooden carvings, and a centrepiece Korean pine tree. The main dining room seats 58, while the terrace accommodates 44 guests amongst kimchi pots and patterned screens. A private dining space for 10 showcases celadon vase pendant lights and Korean artwork, creating an intimate setting for special occasions.

Chef Moon brings more than two decades of global experience to HANU’s kitchen. The menu shines with carefully crafted dishes like Korean beef tartare, crispy bulgogi (beef sliced thin and marinated for 24 hours), and innovative takes on classics such as oversized kimbap hand rolls. At the heart of the dining experience, each table features a bespoke charcoal grill where staff prepare premium cuts of meat to guests’ preferences, accompanied by six distinct condiments.

The drinks programme spotlights soju, an integral part of Korean drinking culture, alongside cocktails inspired by Korean tradition, innovation, and harmony.
